The following action items passed by majority vote during the regular meeting of the Sanitation District No.1 Board of Directors held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

  1. Acceptance of the September 17, 2024, SD1 Board of Directors regular meeting minutes.
  2. Approved the change order for additional Construction Administration services for Fitzgerald Phase II to GPD Group in the amount of $15,000.
  3. Awarded a contract for the construction of the 701 Horsebranch Road Aerial Sanitary Sewer Replacement to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Sunesis Construction Co., in the amount submitted with its bid, for a total of $304,630.
  4. Awarded a contract for the construction of the 920 Kyles Lane Sanitary Sewer Replacement to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, SmithCorp, in the amount submitted with its bid, for a total of $493,000.
  5. Awarded a contract for the roof modification and installation associated with the Main Office Data Center Generator to the sole bidder, Structural and Process Services, in the amount submitted with its bid, for a total of $92,250.
  6. Awarded design services for the Silver Grove – Highland Heights Sanitary Upsizing to the proposer whose proposal is the best value for the District, Cardinal Engineering, for the unit costs submitted in their proposal, for a total of $108,152.35.
  7. Awarded a contract for the purchase of a new Sludge Trailer to the sole bidder, Spector Manufacturing, for the cost submitted with its bid, for a total of $82,299.
  8. Approved the revised betterment agreement with KYTC for the W6 Force Main Improvements Phase 1B in the amount of $1,926,600.
  9. Approved seven new requests for reservation of sanitary sewer capacity.
  10. Approved the Storm Water Public Cost-share Program project with the City of Villa Hills at Rogers Road for a total SD1 cost share of $52,743.
  11. Approved the proposed resolution to accept the 2024 Line-item grant funds of $5,000,000 for the Lakeview EQ Tank project, approved the grant assistance agreement, and authorized Senior Director of Engineering to sign all related documents.
  12. Approved the proposed resolution for filing of a funding application for the KY17 Corridor Tunnel project and appointing Senior Director of Engineering and Successors-in-Title as official project representative of a Kentucky Water and Wastewater Assistance for Troubled or Economically Restrained Systems (KY WWATERS) Program Project.
  13. Approved the proposed resolution accepting the supplemental grant for the Northern Boone County Phase IAi of $1,650,000, approving the grant supplemental assistance agreement, and designating the Senior Director of Engineering as the “authorized official” to sign all related documents.
  14. Approved the proposed resolutions accepting the supplemental grants for the Lakeview EQ Tank 1st award $5,646,494, approving the grant supplemental assistance agreement, and designating the Senior Director of Engineering as the “authorized official” to sign all related documents.
  15. Approved the proposed resolutions accepting the supplemental grants for the Lakeview EQ Tank 2nd award $11,296,713, approving the grant supplemental assistance agreement, and designating the Senior Director of Engineering as the “authorized official” to sign all related documents.
  16. Authorized the sale of the five-acre tract that contains the Buffington House for the best offer and authorizing the Executive Director, Adam Chaney, to sign all documents necessary to effect the sale and transfer of the property.
