Board Meeting News Flash

The following action items passed by majority vote during the regular meeting of the Sanitation District No. 1 Board of Directors held Tuesday, August 16, 2022.

  1. Acceptance of the July 19, 2022, minutes of the SD1 Board of Directors meeting.
  2. Awarded a one-year contract for the renewal of the license and service agreement with MCCI for support of Laserfiche software in the amount submitted with its bid - $50,571.80.
  3. Awarded a contract for the Modulating Plugs and Actuators for the Peaselburg Detention Basin project to Rawdon Myers, Inc., in the amount submitted with its bid - $96,405.
  4. Awarded a contract for design services for the Church Street Equalization Tank and Wet Weather Pump Station Facility project to Tetra Tech in the amount submitted with its bid - $428,778.
  5. Awarded a contract for design services for the Industrial Road and Memorial Pkwy Sanitary Sewer Reconstruction project to DLZ in the amount submitted with its bid - $222,016.
  6. Awarded a contract for design services for the Waterworks Road, Phase III, London Acres to Wilson Road project to Cardinal Engineering in the amount submitted with its bid - $130,001.68.
  7. Awarded a contract for Collection Systems rehabilitation CIPP lining services to Insituform Technologies in the amount submitted with its bid - $2,268,303.
  8. Awarded a contract for purchase of sodium hypochlorite to Chemicals, Inc., in the amount submitted with its bid - $589,979.50.
  9. Reservation of Capacity. Five new requests for reservation of sanitary sewer capacity were approved by the Board.
  10. Approved an agreement with Hillwood to assume a portion of the cost of upsizing a sewer pipe from 8-inch to 12-inch, which will service a developing area of Boone County for a total contribution by SD1 of $175,000.
  11. Approved a cost increase request from the City of Newport for a Storm Water Public Cost-Share Program project at Memorial Parkway for an additional contribution by SD1 of $22,106.

About SD1
SD1 is responsible for the collection and treatment of northern Kentucky’s wastewater and also serves as the regional storm water management agency. SD1 is the second largest public sewer utility in Kentucky, serving more than 339,000 residents throughout Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties. SD1 maintains approximately 1,685 miles of sanitary-sewer system pipeline, 125 wastewater pumping stations, 15 flood pump stations, six package treatment plants, three major wastewater treatment plants, 433 miles of storm-sewer system and 32,300 storm-sewer structures.
