SD1’s storm water boundary focuses on the urbanized areas of Northern Kentucky, which are more densely populated and contain public infrastructure such as roadways, storm systems and wastewater systems.
These areas typically have more impervious surfaces such as driveways, roofs and parking lots, which create more storm water runoff that SD1 must manage to reduce the risk of problems like flooding, erosion or pollution of the local waterways we rely on for drinking water and recreation.
