SD1 Emergency Response Team (ERT)
Collaborates with National Colleagues

ERT

This week members of Department 200 who participate in SD1's Emergency Response Team (ERT) coordinated with the National Emergency Rescue Team to conduct Trench Rescue techniques training. The SD1 ERT includes William Mullins, Andy Cotton, Cole Trowbridge, Tony Fey, Collin Couch, Alex Stamper, Jacob Lightner, Dalton Howe and Paul Coulter.

During the event, local firefighters and ERT members had an opportunity to participate in trench rescue training. The session covered all levels and means of rescue that might need to be executed in this type of confined space emergency. Instructors for the course included the fire chiefs from Brooklyn, Knoxville and Indianapolis. It was a great opportunity for SD1 to further build its relationship with local and national first responders.

SD1 ERT team members got an opportunity to shine when they were able to demonstrate to local and regional firefighters the effectiveness a Vactor truck can have in aiding and assisting with trench rescues.

"The teamwork and collaboration that SD1 displayed during this training event shows just how dedicated SD1 is to community outreach programs and maintaining a strong relationship with our local first responders," said SD1 Safety Coordinator Paul Coulter.

Thank you to the SD1 ERT members for setting a great example and enforcing SD1's top core value - safety.
