The Cincinnati Reds kick off their 2023 season today at 4:10 p.m., at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates. We're celebrating with a number of activities for staff, brought to you by SD1 Fun!

It is my pleasure to announce the next winner in our Opening Day prize drawings: Congratulations to Nicholas Geisel, who has won a pair of Joey Votto socks; and Stephanie Massey, who has won a red and white Reds baseball cap. We'll continue to draw names every half hour until our grand prize drawing at 2 p.m. (Staff do NOT have to be present to win.) Winners can pick their prizes up in Human Resources anytime after 2:30 p.m.

Please join us in the Collection Systems Garage (also at the treatment plants) between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., for free hot dogs, peanuts, chips, drinks and a box of Cracker Jacks. Thanks to Zach Atkerson, our official Opening Day Grill Master.

Don't forget to submit your prediction for how many games the Reds will win this year. Submissions are due at 4 p.m. today. Whoever comes closest will win a $100 gift card to the local chili parlor of their choosing.
