What Will You Be Doing this Weekend?
Last year, during our inaugural SD1 Trail of Terror, our staff brought their A games.
We had killer clowns and Beetlejuice
Haunted houses and scary poos
Pinocchios, ghosts and Skellingtons
O Halloween can be such fun!
But of all the shrieks and ghastly cries,
None compared to Pennywise!
And so I ask a simple question, friend
What will YOU be doing this weekend?
A quick reminder that our second annual Trail of Terror staff pumpkin decorating contest is week - October 24-28. Will anyone top last year's blue-ribbon winner, Pennywise in the Sewer? Show off your creativity, terrify your coworkers and win great prizes!
Participants will register their decorated pumpkin(s) between 8 a.m. and noon next Monday (see Janeen Rutherford) and Tuesday (see Jenn Adamson). Your pumpkin will be assigned a number and placed along the walking trail at the Public Service Park. Staff at the treatment plants can bring your decorated pumpkins to Britney Carson, and she'll make sure they get placed on the trail as well. There is no limit to how many pumpkins a staff member can register - just keep everything rated PG.
Photos of each pumpkin will be posted on The Pipeline, and staff will have an opportunity to vote next Wednesday-Thursday (October 26-27). Winners will be announced on Friday, October 28, at 10 a.m. First prize is a $100 Amazon gift card; second prize is a $75 Amazon gift card; third prize is a $50 Amazon gift card; and three honorable mentions will be awarded a $25 gift card.
Pumpkins do NOT have to be carved - they can be painted or decorated any other way. The only limits are your own imagination.
Best of luck, and remember, as H.P. Lovecraft once said, "There are horrors beyond life's edge that we do not suspect, and once in a while man's evil prying calls them just within our range."
