Lydia Watkins does it all for family's
custom medal fabrication business

Lydia Watkins likes to keep busy. When she’s not at work, overseeing some of SD1’s largest Clean H2O40 projects as Director of Infrastructure and Capital Planning, or at home with her husband, Craig, raising their two children, you might find her belt sanding or powder coating a custom medal design for the family business, Watkins Custom Creations.

Geof Ball on the Benefits of Continuing Education

SD1 Eastern Regional and Small Plants Manager Geof Ball recently sat down with the Enzweiler Building Institute, where he currently teaches Electric Instruction, to discuss the benefits of continuing education and networking. Check out his video.

Promotions in Information Technology

Congratulations to three members of the IT team who recently were promoted.

• Jared “Louie” Barker is now a full-time member of the IT team reporting to Dane Boggs.  He has taken the role of Jr. Systems Analyst for the infrastructure side. This position will focus on data center, servers and some SCADA work.
  
  
• Alen Dzaferagic has been reclassified to a Senior Systems Analyst. With this reclassification, Alen will take the lead on the SCADA side of the house, along with focusing on network administration and IT security. SD1 has two large SCADA projects starting this year - PLC replacements for the treatment plants and water basin smart controls.
  
  
• Aaron Angel has been reclassified to Business Intelligence Manager. This position was previously held by Lisa Martin when she retired. With this reclass, Aaron will be responsible for the SD1 reporting systems and administration of the HR, GP, Laserfiche and billing systems. As SD1 continues to focus on analytics and integration between systems, strong emphasis and leadership in this area is needed.
