[ARCHIVED] Staff Spotlight: Asset Technician Tony Fey

Asset Technician Tony Fey

Meet Tony Fey, an Asset Technician at SD1. Tony began at SD1  n 2018 and works as a skilled mechanic in our Collection Systems department. Get to know him and his role in providing the Northern Kentucky community with reliable wastewater and storm water services.

How would you describe your job, Tony?

I work on equipment that SD1’s crew members use every day out in the field. My job is to make sure the crews can go out and do their job every day with minimal issues.

What is your typical day like?

In the morning I get the field crews rolling and make sure they have everything they need. This may involve fixing something for them or giving them parts so  they go out and do their job. Throughout the day I’ll fix broken camera equipment, a faulty Vactor truck, or something else which they'll later use to inspect and clean sewer lines in the community.

What motivates you?

I like what I do. I like challenges; working on things, tearing things apart and seeing how they work and putting them back together.

What do you like to do outside of SD1?

I like fishing, riding my motorcycle, hanging with my grandkids and kids. Anything outdoors!

What is your favorite thing about working at SD1?

I like everybody I work with. It’s a good work environment. Some days are a challenge, depending on what’s going on, but it’s a really good place to work.
