In 2015, Sanitation District No. 1 (SD1) installed a two-inch groundwater monitoring well in the public right-of-way along 6th Street in Covington. The well is no longer in use, and to comply with Kentucky administrative regulations it must be properly removed by a Kentucky Certified Well Driller.
SD1 has contracted Geotechnology, Inc., to perform this work. The removal process will take place during normal working hours next Monday and Tuesday at this location. During this time, you may hear and see construction activity and equipment, including a drilling rig. No Parking signs will be placed along 6th Street and motorists may experience some traffic disruptions at this location. Once the work is complete the area will be restored with grass seed and straw.
