The Ash Street Equalization (EQ) Tank project includes a 0.41 million gallon buried tank to be constructed in Silver Grove southwest of the intersection of Mary Ingles Highway and Ash Street, to store CSO in excess of the downstream sewer capacity.
Flow would be diverted by gravity to the buried tank and subsequently dewatered by gravity through a drain vault with control valve back to the combined sewer system, at a rate of up to 0.25 million gallons per day.
The project is in conceptual planning currently and will be implemented by 2023. The Ash Street EQ Tank is expected to eliminate about 1.5 million gallons of typical-year CSOs.
