Phase I
- Project Location: Fort Thomas
- Project Description: This is the first phase a multi-phase project to alleviate flooding and eliminate sewer overflows. During Phase I, SD1 will be replacing and upgrading portions of storm water and wastewater pipes starting near the intersection of Waterworks Road and Memorial Parkway, proceeding down Waterworks Road to the Ft. Thomas/Newport city line, near the intersection of London Acres Drive. Contractors will use a variety of methods to install the force main pipe, including "open cut" excavations, which will cut deep trenches in the ground for pipe installation. As a result, construction activity will be seen and heard during normal working hours. During construction, portions of Waterworks Road will be closed to vehicle and foot traffic. Detour signs will be posted.
