5/27/2010Capacity, Management, Operation and Maintenance (CMOM) Self-assessmentSD1's CMOM Self-assessment Report was approved by the United States E.P.A. and Kentucky's Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet on May 14, 2008. SD1's CMOM programs are designed to manage collection system assets and operations in a manner that maximizes efficiency and reduces the potential for overflow occurrences. Proper planning and management of CMOM programs can result in a reduction of the number, frequency, and volume of SSOs and CSOs.

This is SD1's first CMOM Annual Report and contains an abbreviated summary of progress that has been made since submitting the first four CMOM components contained within the Consent Decree - the Grease Control Program, the Sewer Overflow Response Plan, the CMOM Self-assessment, and the Pump Station Operation Plan for Backup Power.

5/27/2010Consent DecreeA Consent Decree is a legally-binding document between SD1 and state and federal environmental regulators to improve water quality in Northern Kentucky. SD1's Consent Decree is the first of its kind in that it takes a holistic watershed management approach. Watershed management takes place by breaking the region down into smaller watersheds in order to strategically identify, evaluate, prioritize and correct the pollution factors unique to each area.

This report provides a description of the status of SD1's compliance with the Nine Minimum Controls as set forth in the Combined Sewer Overflow Control Policy, as well as proposed projects for ensuring compliance is achieved no later than April 18, 2009.
