SD1 invites public comment on proposed budget
04/21/2017 - SD1 is responsible for collecting and treating Northern Kentucky’s wastewater and managing the region’s storm water. In carrying out these responsibilities, SD1 is charged with protecting public health, property and the environment and supporting the economic vitality of the community.
SD1 establishes a budget annually in order to successfully provide essential wastewater and storm water management services to the Northern Kentucky region. SD1 is currently accepting public comment on the proposed budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018.
Information on proposed budget
SD1’s sanitary sewer service fee for FY 2017 was $7.37 for every HCF, or 748 gallons, of water used. The 5 percent increase SD1 is proposing would result in an FY 2018 sanitary sewer service fee of $7.73 per HCF.
Under the proposed budget, SD1’s storm water fee would remain at the current $5.04 per month in the coming FY 2018.

Public comment period closes May 5, 2017
SD1 welcomes comments from the public about the proposed wastewater and storm water budget during the public comment period beginning April 21, 2017 and ending May 5, 2017.

Following the public comment period, SD1 staff will compile the comments and send them to each SD1 board member and the judges executive for Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties. SD1 board members and the three judges executive will review the comments before making a final decision on the proposed budget.
