Welcome to SD1’s award-winning Dry Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant! Operational in 1979, this Villa Hills, Kentucky plant cleans industrial, commercial and residential wastewater from more than 94,000 customer accounts in Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties in Northern Kentucky. Dry Creek’s dedicated and experienced staff treats an average of 33 million gallons of wastewater per day, seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
Plant Tours
See how million gallons of wastewater are treated every day as you explore everything from the primary settling tanks to the microbial-driven secondary tanks.
SD1 can accommodate up to 60 visitors per tour session. All middle/high school students and adults are welcome! The tour lasts approximately one hour. Part of the tour is outside, so visitors should dress accordingly.

Odor Concerns
SD1 makes every effort to respond to odor
complaints with prompt and efficient service.
Sometimes, sewer odors arise from a local
system or private property. Please notify SD1
or the property owner in the event of an odor
issue because such odors can be the sign of
underlying problems.
