Contractor Storm Water Education Program
The District continues to conduct educational programs directed at area contractors, developers, home builders, and engineers. In partnership with the U.S. EPA, the Kentucky Division of Water, the City of Florence, and the Boone, Campbell, and Kenton County Conservation Districts, the District has sponsored annual Regional Sediment and Erosion Control Expos and Workshops. Contractors, homebuilders and engineers learn the latest technologies to prevent silt, sediment and mud from leaving their construction sites in order to gain compliance with regulatory agencies. Generally, exhibitors are present at these expos and display recent innovations. The expos feature requirements of the Phase II Storm Water Permitting, selecting the right controls for a job, sediment barriers and drainage systems controls, best management practices (BMPs) effectiveness and maintenance, etc. Afternoon site visits are organized to provide opportunities for participants to view practical application of the material presented.

The District publicizes the Expo dates on its website, local newspapers, and through direct mail. For more information, contact Sean Blake at 859-578-7468.
